Odd thing when a faith fact coincides with the real world; something often gives.
Rick Howick of the Diocese of Orange and OCCatholic was interviewing a fave of mine, Fr Bao, the new rector of Christ Cathedral.
They shared a little known fact about the Crystal Cathedral (now Christ Cathedral) complex: there IS a 13th floor in the Tower of Power where a chapel exists; unlike hotels, which sometimes skips the13th floor out of superstition, Yet,
Reverend Schuller recognized that 13 is truly a positive number, because of what it represents.
Suppose I can make a case for Jesus dying on Friday the 13th? Would this help?
Yet, our culture looks superstitiously at that date as an unlucky day for us humans. Suppose it is just unlucky for our Savior, not for us. In fact, it turns out to be so, I opine, because God wants everyone to see the clues about an eternity which makes our lifespans look like a whiff of smoke: visible but only for a moment.

The Cross is Love
(these words taken from Fr. Augustine’s sermon on Good Friday, April 2nd, 2021: Celebration of the Lord’s Passion).
But, always remember, God is very SPECIFIC, well organized, THE excellent designer of His world. Dates, times, seasons are no accidents. And He uses EVERY science to focus on OUR destiny and His love for those created AFTER the angels.
Friday the 13th?
It’s hidden in plain sight in three Scripture passages, a superstition and 1917 events. I was talking to a fine young couple after Good Friday services at St Norbert’s, both clients and friends. They are so full of life, with doting grandparents for their two young offspring. Gino & Rebekah are blessings in ways they don’t know. I happened to mention the Friday the 13th angle…Gino seemed interested, so here it is.
God chose the Isaac clan of Abraham’s descendants to teach us His love and salvation history. God dictated to the Israelites a series of feasts and celebrations to help US today; like ours, they often anchor happy and not so happy, mixed events (funerals, weddings etc.).
Like these celebrations of life and after life, each has importance.
The first in Leviticus 23 follows and is similar to our July 4th, celebrating a new day in their (and our) country’s history
Leviticus 23
4 These are the festivals of the LORD, holy days which you shall declare at their proper time
(God is a big fan of reminding us of our future and His faithfulness; proper times means these are not just placekeepers but events the whole world needs to understand)
5 The Passover of the LORD* falls on the fourteenth day of the first month, at the evening twilight.
Simple enough, God’s angel of death came at the evening twilight in Chabad x thousands of years ago. The calendar CONTINUES uninterrupted today as Chabad.org.
6 The fifteenth day of this month is the LORD’s feast of Unleavened Bread. For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread.
Pharaoh’s loss of his son, whom Ramses hoped would be the NEXT pharaoh, finally put a crack in Egypt’s god-king’s heart. Only a crack
7 On the first of these days you will have a declared holy day; you shall do no heavy work.

I caution my Christian & Catholic fam and friends (clients are in both of these) NOT to ignore nor understand that JUDEOChristian means our roots go back much sooner than the center of history, the AD that the godless want to abandon for CE and BCE. Yes, it IS the common era, but as that Catholic building at the “center of the world” points out, we live in the NOT SO Common, extraordinary times.
We are told “Passover” is important to remember; our Jewish friends still celebrate at their Seder meal with “Father, why is this night different than any night?” and ceremonies we may not understand. But should.
God doesn’t major just in the minors, He majors in EVERYTHING in His 553 sextillion mile wide universe, built not as an Erector Set plaything, but for HUMANITY.
He has designed everything to work well together, down to the 50 trillion cells fashioned in our bodies in two archetypes, xx and xy, male and female. We men could never do the work that befalls the Rebekahs of our planet, but there would only have been two (the first) if we didn’t understand our destinies.
We just saw the “10 commandments” on the big screen; Charlton Heston’s “Moses” bigger than life. If you haven’t, see it next year, the Plague of Xi or not.
The Jews had grown plentiful and prosperous, though as slaves building buildings like the faux pyramids (the master pyramid is Giza…see the LensTake on Giza) of the pharaoh(s) for 400 years and doing the labor for free, some of their wealth came from the valuable earthly gifts the Egyptians gave their former slaves.
Think of today, as the ObamaNation sheds any hint of secrecy; bullies stay bullies until there is push back, people stand up for themselves with God’s help. Look at the only California churches kept open by our toddler tyrant NewsoMeanie the Lesser: actual scientific human sacrifice at planned barrenhood kill mills considered essential workers since March 21, 2020. Essential for what? Sacrificing young girls in the prime of their lives before their first steps, kiss, driving a car. 63 million innocent bloodied baby bodies sold into organ slavery by Kamala, Barry and the rest.
This is not unlike the black slaves (and others thru time) of the Southern Democrat slave owners who paid minimum (that is zero per hour) wages until 600,000 died unCIVILly and Lincoln emancipated our black brothers and sisters.
Moses emancipated (obviously with God’s help) the Jews but NOT until the 10th proof, ie plague, was ignored. #10 forced Ramses to know our God is greater than ALL the gods of the Greeks, Romans, Hindu, Buddha, Yoga deities from all four corners of the earth.
Pharoah Ramses is pictured incredibly angry after the first 9 plagues; his heart remains stone cold as he tells his soldiers to prepare to kill the first born of each of the slaves to put down their potential rebellion. Heston continues to ask in pharaoh’s court: “Pharaoh, LET MY PEOPLE GO!” Words Lincoln spoke in America; as Mr. Wilberforce did in England. Men were designed to be free.
Moses warned Ramses once again but gave strict instructions to all the tribes of Israel IN Eqypt’s captive grasp to prepare an unblemished sheep or goat lamb, kill it and use the innocent blood painted over the mantle and door posts of each home. In the book of Numbers chapter 28, God reminds His people:
16The fourteenth day* of the first month is the Passover of the LORD,
17and the fifteenth day of this month is the pilgrimage feast. For seven days unleavened bread is to be eaten.
At the first Seder meal, preparing for the pilgrimage out of their 400 years of slavery, to have the innocent lamb’s blood ready to substitute for the death of each first born son of millions of families, you need a day of preparation: the day before.
We Catholics celebrate the New Passover, called the Last Supper and it is only occasionally on the same date as the Ancient Passovers still celebrated today. Look at Good Friday’s communion (read Eucharist) reading from John in the Passion.
But first Luke 22:
“7 When the day of the feast of Unleavened Bread arrived, the day for sacrificing the Passover lamb,
8 he sent out Peter and John, instructing them, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”
9 They asked him, “Where do you want us to make the preparations?”
Can God see into the future? Of course. He sent His mother Mary to Fatima, Portugal on Friday the 13th day of July, 1917 with future prophecies that were proven out. The famous “Three Secrets”.
10 And he answered them, “When you go into the city, a man will meet you carrying a jar of water.* Follow him into the house that he enters
Notice, Jesus predicted the Apostles would meet a water bearing servant of Arimathea’s Joseph at the exact time going to the Upper Room House.
11 and say to the master of the house, ‘The teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
12 He will show you a large upper room that is furnished. Make the preparations there.”
Here is where we hear about the Upper Room, readied for the needs of the Master by a secret shadow disciple, Joseph of Arimathea. Think today, in the 3rd decade of the 3rd Millennium, do you feel you must hide your “Truth” these days like Joseph did?
Please don’t; be wise but recognize your witness is incredibly necessary and efficacious when your light is NOT hidden under a bushel basket. The lives you save by your sacrifice and witness are not those the evil abortionists, hell’s servants of death, end; these are ETERNAL lives of friends, family even strangers the Holy Spirit is using you to help live happily forever. AND beyond.
God knew what was going on, the Apostles did not. In John 13 (John the 13th):
Before the feast of Passover,* Jesus knew that his hour had come to pass from this world to the Father. He loved his own in the world and He loved them to the end.a
2The devil had already induced* Judas, son of Simon the Iscariot, to hand him over. So, during supper,b
3fully aware that the Father had put everything into his power and that he had come from God and was returning to God,c
4he rose from supper and took off his outer garments. He took a towel and tied it around his waist.
5* Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ feetd and dry them with the towel around his waist….
Another reference to the Last Supper but before the Jewish celebration of the same name (Passover), Jesus shows the Apostles yet another lesson about service, humility and love for the Father. One as 3 persons is 1 3. 13. 3 unique Persons in the One Godhead. The 2nd person of the blessed Trinity, who created those whose feet He was about to wash, needed yet another lesson (and my motto):
Help1Some1~2day. Or more if you are able and willing.
Don’t leave it to Mr. Graham’s fine son, Franklin, Catholic Charities or the government (we the People ARE the government in US): be charitable to someone. Open your eyes, friend. Open them wide, using Christ lens’, to see the opportunities you are surrounded with. Organized charities DO NOT absolve us of the need and joy of gifting and giving.
God knew for all eternity you would be reading this long winded Fri the 13th piece RIGHT NOW.
But before we “Fast forward” past Holy Thursday’s feast, in John 19, realize Jesus’s 33 years, mainly His last 3, are predicted and prophesized in over 600 prophecies by a God Who knows Times, Past Present and Future. For example, He could design and place a giant altar/beacon/pillar/compass that points to Bethlehem 26 centuries before that city ever existed. My beloved and super smart techie son Matt pointed this out when I told him the Giza pyramid is a Christian/Catholic marker, a “time and space” compass serving multiple purposes, including pointing to the Exodus and Bethlehem:
“…isn’t it more likely that Bethlehem was established well after Giza so it’s more likely that if it pointed at Bethlehem, and the future connotation of that was understood, that the Canaanites who established Bethlehem did so because their favorite vertex was pointed in that general direction? Giza “Constructed c. 2580-2560 BC (before Christ) (4th Dynasty)” and Bethlehem “Founded 1400 BCE (est.)”
Giza tells us it was completed earlier than Matt’s secondary source; and marked complete in 2623 before Christ (BC) but the rest of the story belongs in another Len’s take which you will enjoy. But Matt asks a great question as he toys with his father on earth: how could a book or object point to the future accurately? Giza points to Bethlehem. Revelations to end times.
God did it hundreds of times. Jesus’ life is the culmination of 600 prophecies. Pope St John Paul the Great and Karol Wotyla are the culmination of one or two messaged to Lucia of Fatima decades before. Draw a line from the Great Pyramid over Bethlehem to the north east, you get an angle of 26 degrees 18 minutes 9.63 seconds. God is an accurate God; That line crosses the Red Sea exodus crossing and one of the two remaining Solomonic pillars. God is infinite central, present. He has known for all eternity Matt would troll his dad gently and this would be written. Follow Christ to your eternal joy; ignore Him to your eternal Detriment. No one will stand with us as you or I face God: at that point in eternity, we stand alone. Will Christ be able to speak for us? YOUR choice.
31 Now since it was preparation day, in order that the bodies might not remain on the cross on the sabbath, for the sabbath day of that week was a solemn one, the Jews asked Pilate that their legs be broken and they be taken down.
Family and friends: Connect the dots. This last verse is critical.
The 14th day of Abib/Nisan (Nisan is the Babylonian translation.), the first Jewish month is the day/date the Jews were emancipated (and ewomancipated) for the journey, the Exodus out of Egypt near Goshen. The day of preparation would be the day BEFORE God PASSES over our frail and sinful selves and sees only the INNOCENT Blood of the Agnus Dei, the Lamb of God, His Eternal Son. Theologically speaking, WOW!! Sometime between today and the 5783 years on the current Jewish calendar, the 14th of Abib/Nisan happened on a Sabbath. A Saturday, a “Solemn One”, that is Passover.
Here’s the confusing part: The Jews’ days go from sundown to sundown. Notice this when Jesus’ agony, time on the cross and death are chronicled very purposefully.
We are told Saturday the 14th is Passover (‘Solemn one’ comment); for us that year, at the dawn of the Church.
Jesus knew His time would not make it to the usual Passover, since the Chief Jewish priests and leaders wanted him dead before.
The NeoPassover of the true Innocent Lamb, bloodless on Thursday, bloodied, beaten and lost on Friday the 13th day of Abib/Nisan FULFILLS the prophetic ending of our slavery to sin and death (Sunday’s a’comin’) with the process of the hardhearted pharaoh, a persistent Egyptian raised Hebrew slave Moses, the Divine Mercy of a Loving God Who protected His people and released them into the desert on the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Why Unleavened Bread? Moses relayed the commands of God to travel light and no time for risen bread. Just unYeasted. the Feast of UnYeasted Bread. OR did the Trinity REPLACE the unYeasted/unLeavened with the Risen Bread began in the House of Bread (Beth’Lehem) on that fateful 15 Nisan/Abib on the Chabad Jewish calendar?
We Catholics celebrate the Risen Bread, on Easter Sunday AFTER sundown on Nissan the 14th. Many of you did last Holy Saturday, NO MATTER what year you are reading this.
Ok Gino, you never heard this before: Jesus IS the Risen Bread who needed no yeast to come back to Life, under His own power and that of the Father God Who will receive us after time is ended. Will the Return of the Risen One born in the Little Town of the House of Bread (Beth’Lehem) occur this year? God only knows but the season looks primed for a repeat of Noah for the last time.
The Jews still recall the mercy of God’s deliverance each Passover. Lev 23 chronicles this in His requirements for the travel: 7 days of Unleaven Bread. (is this the time it took to get to the Red Sea before the Moses waterworks took place?) that is, the first day no work: they were busy moving out of Egypt. Then another feast on the 7th day… then Feast of First Fruits pictured in Leviticus 23:10. All these feasts, so little time…
Why not look at today’s ancient lunar calendar updated to 5781 IN the solar calendar 2021 AD. Anno Domine or “In the year of the Lord…”
Here’s a snapshot in real American time from the Chabad. Now, we all seem, at times, to think we are the center of the universe. Actually, the center of the world, of time and of light, is Jesus and is noted best at the Giza pyramid, the Catholic compass. Ok, before being accused of Algorean heresies like man can change the weather, change the climate using God’s gift of life CO2, I will explain…elsewhere.
The Chabad (chabad.org) covers 5781 lunar years; not estimations. This should put some meat on the bones, then look at the 1917 events (world war I? )
Maybe but more likely, 1917 is more important from Portugal to the whole world.
Mary often has been her Son’s and the Godhead’s messenger; her frequent flight to Fatima, Portugal on successive 13th days of the month comes to mind.
( Hmm, there’s that 13 again…) Does this confirm God wants to remind us He IS. I AM. Existent as 1-3 for eternity. Does He finds the 13th important.
Why did He chose that day of the possible 30 days in each of these months? Instead of like every 2nd Sunday, since May 13th was a sunday in 1917. There are NO coincidences in salvation history.
It is best to understand, God is eternally present; we are the ones who came after but WILL EXIST AS LONG AS HE DOES. God thinks four dimensionally and worldwide, time past and future.
THINKING in 4D, including time, Patrick tried to explain the Trinity with a 3 leaf clover in Ireland. Augustine tried to understand the Godhead talking to a bucket boy on the beach who turned out to be an angel saying “Don’t waste your time, Augustine! The Trinity is NOT understandable with your mind”
Is God pointing to His mystery this way? Think the hell the world was in, in 1917. A Catholic prince married a Muslim girl named Fatima (Mohammed’s beloved daughter) and named his town after her. Messenger Mary relayed very important PROPHECIES; these revelations included Pope St John Paul II (the Great’s) travails, the need to consecrate Russia to her Mary’s Sacred Heart.
Godincidence or co-incidence: The only one of the 13ths that Mary appeared on that year that was a Friday, was Friday the 13th in July.
Anything special about that July 13th?
OK, religious sleuths and scientists all, what happened on Friday the 13th’s apparition? “Our Lady of Fátima, according to Lucia, around noon on 13 July 1917, Mary entrusted the children with three secrets. … Lúcia then wrote the 3rd secret down and sealed it in an envelope not to be opened until 1960, when “it will appear clearer”.
My beloved son Matt, God doesn’t need us to predict the future: He does it for us, generally AND precisely.
The time of Jesus was laser focused on with 600+ prophecies; numerous Fatima prophesies came during the most horrible word, up to that time, and focused us on the 20th century (similar to Our Lady of Good Success four centuries previously).
Where are we going this decade of the 21st? It is the present, the past is gone and the future ie tomorrow never comes as tomorrow.
In 2021, as you can see on the March Chabad calendar, which is the Jewish last month of 5780 and first month (Nissan) of 5781, the 14th day of Nisan or Erev Pesach (the First Passover meal)
happens on our Western Gregorian calendar March 27th. This year, our Easter is the Jews’ 8th day of Passover on April 3-4 this year.
Now that we are talking Gregorian, note that Catholic tradition teaches that Jesus was conceived and died on the same date (March 25th). BORN TO DIE, seen on many parish bulletins. Better render Born to Die that We Might LIVE!
Is it to complete a cycle of 33 years (plus the 9 months in the womb)? Or what? August 15th is celebrated as the Feast of the Mother of God going home.Mary’s Assumption day.
Mary focused much on Jesus, her years going from infant to child to Man and God. If Jesus becomes the Risen Bread on the 15th of Nissan, the feast of Unleavened Bread, in the Chabad calendar that year, a couple millennia ago, does Mary’s death OR ‘translation’ happen on a 15th for a purpose? Not sure…

Detective work: March 25th each year we celebrate the Annunciation. But the story is fascinating, showing again God’s handiwork in overlaying dates, times and seasons
When Mary flew to Lourdes France in March, 1858, here’s what she told the mud girl Bernadette: “On 1st March, during the 12th apparition, before the end of the first fortnight of the apparitions, the Lady had confided three secrets to Bernadette, with this express advice: “I forbid you to tell this to anyone”. Bernadette met the Lady four more times and on this fourth meeting, on the 25th March, she revealed her name.
“Que soy era Immaculada Councepciou” that is….I am the Immaculate Conception
On 25th March 1858, on the feast of the Annunciation, during the 16th apparition, Bernadette asked the Lady her name three times: “Mademoiselle, would you be kind enough to tell me who you are?”
“The Lady extended her hands and then re-joined them at chest height and, raising her eyes to heaven, with infinite sweetness she uttered these words, “Que soy era Immaculada Councepciou” (I am the Immaculate Conception). Bernadette did not understand the meaning of these words. She had to repeat them all the way to the presbytery where she shouted them at the priest, Father Peyramale. Overwhelmed by emotion, he immediately sent her home. He was now sure of the Lady’s identity. Indeed, the dogma of the Immaculate Conception had been promulgated in 1854. It says that, unlike the rest of us, Mary was conceived without sin, and had never sinned. The Apparition was the Virgin Mary!
Now, think about this interconnectedness. The dogma was proclaimed 4 years before. Mary confirmed it in person to a peasant girl.
It was mid Lent when Bernadette told us of the call from Heaven sent by Mary to change our hearts, a call without intimidation, of extreme gentleness, but of great need. A real conversion, to find the path to the only true happiness.
People of the 21st century: true peace and true happiness will not come from the diminished grifter, Captain JoEO in the White House. NOR the ObamaNation working their evil ways 3 miles northwest of the White House on Belmont at the Black Ops House of Mischief. It will NOT come from relying on the Plague’s XiMao or Pelosi or other world leaders.
Repentance. Real conversion. The ONLY path to eternity.
It is also called the Supernatural Pregnancy of the Virgin. 9 months later we welcome a child on December 25th. I know, I know people claim it was too cold to be in a manger. Suppose Israel with its temperate climate was comfortable that Chabad year of x with the angels and shepherds, awaiting the Christ Child. the Magi were a long way off still, possibly following the star and the constellations, even the pillar of light in the desert at the center of the world: the Great Pyramid of Giza which reached its zenith, its most brightest of the year each Vernal Equinox at high noon. God doesn’t build or have built a 6.5 million ton building in the desert at the center of the world for fun or to play masonry contractor. He did it with purpose.
Interestingly, the Jews track their year zero as the introduction of Adam and Eve. Do we believe God or man, 5781 Jewish years or billions of years for a pile of primordial doo to bang together to please the Macro Atheist Evolutionaries?

Soooo, numbers often are relevant in salvation history and the bible. Every time you hear 40, you aren’t thinking this is way too slow on the freeway.
No 40 is the number often used to indicate probation, testing, trials (Jews wandered 40 years after the Exodus due to disobedience so that no idolator of the golden calf enters the Promised Land; 40 days Noah on the water. 40 days Jesus was tempted. 40 days of Lent. 40 days (NOT Ascension Sunday) after Easter Sunday, the new Sabbath of the Church, Jesus ascended heavenward) 144,000 is 12x12x1000, the number in Revelations (oh look it up)
since you are sitting at the edge of your seat in anticipation, 144,000 is the quantity, the number of casing mirror stones, polished super bright, that adorned the whole GizaP.
8 is Jesus’ number. It also represents rebirth, renaissance, renewal: we RENEW the musical whole notes scale every 8th note; same note, just a harmonic one OCTave (8) higher. Noah floated with a total of eight, RENEWING the human race. Yes, still just ONE Race, not what these race pimps, and human haters try to divide. God created ONE race via Adam and Eve, not Madam and Eve nor Adam and Steve. ONE first couple, intricately designed to complement each other once married, somewhere in Mesopotamia.
3 is the Trinity. 1 in 3 is the definition of the Trinity (why 13 keeps coming up?).
7 is the number of completeness, like 7 days in the week, 7 main colors of the visible spectrum, 7 major musical notes until the
harmonics repeat the first 7 as up an 8th.
Interestingly, 17 is the Biblical number of Spiritual Perfection, restoration of things and Victory. That Catholic icon, the Giza Pyramid, has 17 steps up to its entrance. Just goes on, doesn’t it: the number 17 is used 13 times in the Bible. · The number 130 is used 17 times in the Bible. · In 17 places in the NT God is called the Unique God
Our God uses ALL His mighty knowledge, power and presence…and ingenuity to reach us, to secure our hearts for eternity.
Oops, snuck that underappreciated Catholic icon, the Catholic compass at Giza, in. If you draw a line from the center of the world at Giza to Bethlehem, you get the angle 26 degrees, 18 minutes 9.63 seconds of arc off the north and south Giza parallels or the equator.

This 6.5 million ton building once was graced with 144,000 mirror stones that reflected light incredibly bright. Hard limestone white casing stones, now moved all over the Middle East 2day after an earthquake. NO TOP by the way because the Cornerstone is MISSING!!
As we wind down (finally!), just a little tease into another LensTalk: that 26 degree plus angle, is the exact angle built into the two passageways inside the first, the great and master pyramid at Giza, at the center of the world, of time, of history; thousands of years before Christ showed up in the city of the House of Bread, a little town of…Beth’ Lehem.
Yes, Matt, my beloved son, God can and DOES place things and words well ahead of their existence.
Good Friday: we heard about the cloth of Veritas~icon or Veronica the True (Latin) Image (Greek) on Good Friday.
As well as the Jewish people choosing Bar abbas (‘son of the fathers’ on earth) and rejecting the cornerstone, the Bar’Abba, the Eternal
Someone left off the top cornerstone, leaving 8 visible vertexes, not 5. About 30 sq ft…the tripod was put there in the 1930s
SON of the Eternal Father too. If you look closely at the Great Pyramid here, the people are well, tiny! AND there is no top. Missing is the chief cornerstone, the capstone visible on many of the counterfeit pyramids in Egypt.
